Then they will rebuild the ancient ruins,
They will raise up the former devastations;
And they will repair the ruined cities,
The desolations of many generations.

Ancient ruins, former devastations, ruined cities, desolations... The process of rebuilding, raising up and repairing these is ugly, dirty, messy and difficult.

But take heart! His glory and righteousness are certain :-)
