A colleague shared with me before that learning can only happen when children are disciplined. I think that's so true... I am happiest and teach best when children are obedient and teachable... Time is not wasted to settle the children and get them onto the 'right page'. Children def grow, learn and benefit so much more.

I think that is a good parallel to our walk with God. We draw closer to God and engage His purposes much more when our hearts are obedient and teachable. He teaches, we receive, we act on it, we learn, we grow. The reverse is true when our hearts are defiant and distracted. We would remain limited in many ways.

But if one decides to have his/her heart defiant and distracted and sees no meaning in improving, then... Is there such a person in the first place? In his/her organic form? Something must have happened. Gonna get to the root issue.

God, grant me a teachable and obedient heart.
